DGME Password Reset: Recover Your Account in Minutes

DGME passwords expire on a schedule, so a failed login is usually routine rather than a problem with your account. This guide covers the reset itself, plus the locked account cases the reset screen does not explain.

Quick answer

On the login screen at webapps.dolgen.net/dgme2, select Forgot Password, verify with your Employee ID, legal first name, last four SSN digits, and date of birth, then follow the reset email.

Step by Step

Reset your DGME password

The whole process takes about five minutes when your details are ready.

Standard Reset

From the login screen

  1. Open webapps.dolgen.net/dgme2 and select Forgot Password.
  2. Enter your Employee ID, legal first name, last four digits of your Social Security Number, and date of birth.
  3. Open the reset email from Dollar General and follow its link.
  4. Create a new password using letters, numbers, and a symbol, then sign in with it.
Reset email missing? Check spam first. Then confirm the email address on your HR file, because that is the only place the reset can go.
Special Cases

When the standard reset is not enough

Three situations need a different route, so match yours below.

SituationWhat to do
Account locked after failed attemptsComplete the reset anyway; it clears most locks. Still locked? Call the ERC at 1 855 275 3447
Details not recognizedYour HR record may differ from what you typed. Verify your legal name and details with your store manager
Former employeeThe main portal closes after you leave. Use Forgot Password on the pay stub portal instead, which stays open for W2 season

Not sure which portal your password belongs to? Start with the DGME sign in guide, since the two systems have separate passwords.

Strong Passwords

Set one you will not fight with

A good DGME password survives the expiry cycle without locking you out.

Do

  • Use a phrase with a number and symbol, like a sentence you remember
  • Make it different from your pay stub portal password
  • Update it as soon as the expiry warning appears

Avoid

  • Reusing an old password with one changed character
  • Your Employee ID, birthday, or store number inside the password
  • Saving it in the browser of a shared store device
FAQ

Password reset questions

Quick answers for the reset cases people search most.

What do I need to reset my DGME password?
Four things: your Employee ID, your legal first name, the last four digits of your Social Security Number, and your date of birth. The portal matches these against your HR record, so use your legal name rather than a nickname.
How long does the reset email take?
Usually a few minutes. If nothing arrives, first check spam, then confirm your email on file with your store manager, because the reset goes to the address in your HR record.
My account is locked. Does resetting help?
Yes, in most cases a completed reset also clears the lock. If it does not, call the Employee Response Center at 1 855 275 3447 and ask them to unlock the account.
Is the pay stub portal password the same?
No. The pay stub portal at paystubportal.com/dollargeneral has its own password or PIN, so resetting your DGME password does not change it. Reset each system separately.
