The Dollar General employee portal, explained by task
DGME login is only half the story. Your pay stubs and W2 forms live on a different system from your schedule and HR details. This guide sends you to the correct official portal for the exact thing you came to do, with steps that work the first time.
Sign in for schedule and HR at webapps.dolgen.net/dgme2. Get pay stubs and W2 forms at paystubportal.com/dollargeneral. They are two separate logins.
You are always on one of two systems
Almost every DGME problem comes from mixing these up. Match your task to the correct portal below before you type anything.
Schedule, HR and personal details
webapps.dolgen.net/dgme2- Sign in with your Employee ID and password
- View your work schedule through Legion
- Update personal information and HR details
- First time users register here
Pay stubs and W2 tax forms
paystubportal.com/dollargeneral- Separate login with Employee ID and password or PIN
- View, download and print pay stubs
- Download W2 forms at tax time
- Works for current and former staff
What did you come here to do?
First, tap the box that matches you and go straight to the steps. As a result, you skip the parts that do not apply.
DGME login steps for the main portal
If your account is already active, signing in takes under a minute. Use a laptop for anything you plan to download, since the mobile view sometimes hides the buttons.
- Open webapps.dolgen.net/dgme2 in your browser.
- Enter your Employee ID (EID) in the first field. It is usually 7 to 8 digits from your onboarding paperwork.
- Type your password, then finish any security check that appears.
- Select Sign In to reach your dashboard.
Need deeper troubleshooting? Read the full DGME sign in guide.
- Check your onboarding paperwork or offer email. The EID is usually a 7 to 8 digit number.
- Look at an old pay stub. The Employee ID is printed near your name.
- On the DGME login page, select the Look up Employee ID link and verify with your details.
- Still stuck? Ask your store manager, or call the Employee Response Center at 1 855 275 3447.
Register as a first time user
You set up access once. Before you start, make sure you have these ready: Employee ID, legal first name, last four digits of your Social Security Number, and date of birth.
- Open the DGME portal and choose Register Now or First Time User.
- Enter your Employee ID and the verification details listed above.
- Answer the security questions and create a strong password.
- Submit, then sign in with your new credentials.
Reset your DGME password
Passwords expire every few months for security. So if yours stops working, reset it instead of retrying, because repeated wrong attempts can lock the account.
- On the login screen, select Forgot Password.
- Enter your Employee ID, legal first name, last four of your Social Security Number, and date of birth.
- Open the reset email from Dollar General and follow the link.
- Create a new password using letters, numbers and a symbol.

View and download your pay stub
Pay information lives on the pay stub portal, not the main DGME portal. If your stub is not showing on payday, check again later in the morning, since the system often updates after processing.
- Go to paystubportal.com/dollargeneral.
- Sign in with your Employee ID and password or PIN.
- Open the Payroll or Pay Stub section.
- Choose the pay period, then view, download or print it.
See the complete Dollar General paystub portal guide for more.
Get your W2 form online
Dollar General releases W2 forms by January 31 each year. If you chose mailed delivery, confirm the address inside the portal is current, because an outdated address delays the paper copy.
- Sign in to the pay stub portal.
- Open the Tax Forms or W2 section.
- Select the tax year you need.
- Download or print the form for filing.
Step by step help is in our Dollar General W2 guide.
Check your work schedule in Legion
Dollar General manages shifts through Legion, a workforce system connected to the DGME portal. After you sign in, you can see upcoming shifts, request time off, and also pick up extra hours without calling the store.
- Sign in to the DGME portal with your Employee ID and password.
- Open the Schedule or Workforce section from your dashboard.
- Legion opens with your shifts in a weekly calendar view.
- Tap any shift to see start time, end time and role.
More on shifts and time off in the DGME work schedule guide.
| Task | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| View upcoming shifts | Schedule calendar on the home screen |
| Request time off | Time Off or Availability menu |
| Swap a shift with a coworker | Shift Swap inside the shift details |
| Pick up open shifts | Open Shifts board, subject to manager approval |
Using DGME on a mobile device
Everything runs through your phone browser. It works the same as on desktop, though a laptop is smoother for downloads. The only official Dollar General app is Workvivo, and it is for company updates, not for pay or W2 login.
More on mobile access in the DGME app guide.
- Open Chrome or Safari and go to webapps.dolgen.net/dgme2 for schedule and HR tasks.
- For pay stubs and W2 forms, open paystubportal.com/dollargeneral instead.
- Enter your Employee ID and password, then finish any security check.
- If a download button does not appear, switch to a laptop.
Former employee access
Left Dollar General but need an old pay stub or W2? You can usually still reach them, since the pay stub portal keeps records for a period after you leave.
- Go to the pay stub portal and sign in with your previous Employee ID and password.
- If your credentials expired, use Forgot Password and verify with your Social Security Number.
- Open the Pay Stub or Tax Forms section for the records you need.
- For tax season, former employee W2 access usually opens in late January.
DGME login problems and the exact fix
Almost every DGME error falls into one of these buckets. So first find your symptom, then apply the matching fix.
| Symptom | Most likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Employee ID not found | Store has not added you yet | Ask your manager to confirm you are in the system |
| Page will not load | Browser cache or old browser | Clear cache, switch to Chrome or Edge, turn off VPN |
| Account locked | Too many wrong attempts | Wait a few minutes, then reset the password |
| No reset email | Email in spam or wrong on file | Check spam, confirm your email inside the portal |
| Pay stub missing on payday | System still processing | Recheck later the same morning |
| Wrong portal | Pay task on the main portal | Use the pay stub portal for pay and W2 |

How to spot a fake DGME login site
Phishing pages copy the DGME look to steal Employee IDs. However, these four habits keep your login safe.
✓ Trust these
- Portal pages on the dolgen.net domain
- The official pay stub portal at paystubportal.com/dollargeneral
- The Workvivo app for company news only
- A link you bookmarked yourself, not one from search
✗ Avoid these
- Any login page not on dolgen.net or the pay stub portal
- Apps claiming to be the DGME portal
- Emails asking you to confirm your password
- Sites that request your full Social Security Number to log in
